Mother’s Day is just around the corner! I love this day because of the many things it can mean to different people, whether you are celebrating your mother, grandmother, or just someone who has filled that role for you, it’s a great day to show appreciation to the motherly figures in your life. As fun as it is to give others gifts and show your appreciation, I sometimes struggle to come up with good gift ideas. If you can relate, follow along with me in this blog post as I share some tested and approved mother’s day gift ideas all of which can be bought in the Boise area to help support our local businesses.

Brunch at Goldy’s

I wanted to start this list off with something I know my mom loves, which is Brunch! There are so many great restaurants in the area, but one of my personal favorite brunch spots is Goldy’s located in Downtown Boise. Be sure to try their stuffed french toast, which is to die for! They also have amazing omelets and so many other options. Goldy’s is open 7am-2pm, but it is a really popular spot, so plan on getting there a little while before you plan on eating to put your name on the list for a table. It is definitely worth the wait!

Mani-pedis at Nail Tek

Another great mother’s day gift idea is a mani-pedi. Nail-Tek is another Boise locally owned business, and they offer a wide variety of services from acrylic nails, gel nails, and everything in between. You can call them ahead to set up an appointment and they also take walk-ins. Nail Tek is open on Mother’s day from 9:30am-7pm.

SHIFT Boutique

Downtown Boise has so many cute, and locally-owned clothing boutiques. One of my mom’s favorites is SHIFT boutique, which sells clothing, shoes, jewelry, and a wide variety of accessories. There are so many unique items to choose from here, which is why I love it. You can visit SHIFT to purchase a gift card, or if you are feeling extra generous you might even take your Mom on a shopping spree here. SHIFT Boutique is open Monday-Saturday from 10am-7pm and on Sundays from 11am-4pm.

The Chocolat Bar

About a year ago, I got to go on a tour of different locally owned businesses in the Downtown Boise area, and The Chocolat Bar became one of my absolute favorites. If your Mom is a dessert lover, this is the perfect place to go for Mother’s Day. They have such a huge assortment of candies, chocolates, you name it! The Chocolat Bar is closed on Sunday’s but is open Monday-Friday from 10am-6pm and on Saturdays from 10am-4:30pm. 

Capital City Florist

Flowers are a classic, tried and true Mother’s Day gift idea! Capital City Floral is especially great because of their special occasion arrangements. Right now, they have an entire mother’s day selection on their website, and they offer delivery! On their website, they require that you place your order at least 2 days before any holidays to ensure that your order can be fulfilled. The shop is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m and are closed on Sundays.
